I don't get people having a hard time with Salt Lake City's parking meters ("SLC parking meters don't work," Forum, March 8). It's damn easy: Punch in your four-digit parking space number and press the large, green enter button; put in your quarters or credit card for time desired and press enter again; take receipt (or don't — you don't need to display it in the car). Nothing to it.

I also don't get people who say they don't go downtown because parking is so bad ("Confusing parking keeps people from SLC downtown," Forum, March 8). What the heck?! The city is full of convenient pay lots. City Creek Center itself is huge and cheap.

And if you want to park on the street, if you're willing to walk a block or two, it's not hard to find a space. I do it all the time going to the theater or a concert. As downtowns go, Salt Lake is darn convenient. If the Mormon pioneers could walk across the plains to get to Temple Square, we can walk a healthy three blocks! Quit whining.
