Letter: LGBT people are becoming world’s scapegoats

The growing intolerance of the LGBT community around the world is puzzling. Concerned when Russia and other countries began legalizing hate and discrimination again, I realized that they have decided on this group to scapegoat.
When any particular group, however benign, is the focus of relentless criticism and examination, especially by a state or with its approval, it is a purposeful way to take the focus off something else.
