Letter: Sexuality is only one part of life for couples
First Published Jan 18 2014 01:01 am • Last Updated Jan 18 2014 01:01 am

This is what same-sex couples do: get up in the morning, do some chores, eat breakfast and get ready for work. If there are children, then one may get the children ready for school while the other makes breakfast. One takes out the trash while the other makes sure the kids have their homework in their backpacks. If there are pets, they need attending.

They share in the housekeeping, bill paying, yard work, and parenting. One goes shopping, the other cooks meals. One prepares kids for their vaccinations, the other makes doctor appointments. One organizes after-school enrichment, the other gets the kids to activities.

At night, one cooks dinner while the other helps with homework. One runs a bath and the other potty trains. One picks up the room while the other reads a story. On Sunday everyone gets ready for church in some families.

It is nice to have someone "holding up the other end of the log" so to speak.

If people think only in terms of sexuality, then there is something wrong with them.
