Letter: Majority of Utahns did not vote for Amendment 3
First Published Jan 15 2014 01:01 am • Last Updated Jan 15 2014 01:01 am

I have heard enough of this majority thing. The majority of Utahns did not vote in favor of Amendment 3. The majority of Utah voters did not vote in favor of Amendment 3.

In 2004 there were 1,278,251 voters in the state of Utah; of that number, only 593,297 voted in favor of this Amendment (46.4 percent); 942,010 showed up to vote.

So only a majority of the people who showed up to vote voted in favor of this amendment.

Perfect example of people not going to vote for whatever excuse they have and losing their voice. Perhaps if we showed up, our voices would be heard and we would not have to hear about this every day. Also, another example of skewed information getting to the public.
