Letter: Inept voters stick with incompetent leaders
First Published Jan 10 2014 01:01 am • Last Updated Jan 10 2014 01:01 am

I am vexed by the continuing problem of Americans not electing representatives whom we need to run this country. Friday in the Tribune, an article "New poll: Americans have little faith in government" makes me want to cry. Are we so inept as the voting populace that we keep re-electing the same morons we keep complaining about, year after year? The answer is yes, we are.

If you are a member of the House or the Senate, you have the same odds of being struck on the skull with a meteorite as being voted out of office.

Their total lack of competence in their positions is astounding to me, from a country that promotes education and competence at a frenetic level in all walks of life. Looks like most of our institutions are unable to produce the level of leadership we really need in this country.
