Of all the disturbing events coming to light in the Swallow/Shurtleff investigation, nothing was as disheartening as learning a member of Swallow's campaign staff referred to a transgender delegate as "that thing" in an email to another staffer ("Swallow campaign filed fake tax papers, new warrants show," Tribune, Jan 2).
What an intolerant and ignorant comment for an individual to make to another individual!
My heart goes out to the transgender individual mentioned in the email. There are people in this community who embrace you and love you for the individual you are. Thank you for serving as a delegate.
