Every time gay marriage is debated, I hear this sentiment: The LDS Church has been consistent in its support of traditional marriage while teaching that all people should be treated with respect. This time it was spoken by LDS Church spokesman Cody Craynor ("Judge: Gay marriage legal, Tribune, Dec. 21).

It reminds me of a spouse who beats the hell out of his/her partner followed by, "But honey, baby, I love ya, don't you know?" Hypocrisy at its finest.
