Tribune ex-writer Diane Cole whines about the First Amendment and "refuge" from control by the Mormon Church ("Utah needs a financially secure Tribune," Opinion, Nov. 30). What nonsense.
The LDS Church is as fundamental a protector of freedom as exists. There is hardly a more compelling Mormon doctrine than agency freedom of choice and none defend it more.
Might this kind of paranoia die the death it deserves? Dare we hope that one day the Tribune will grow up to become a real newspaper and cease sponsoring slanted, anti-Mormon bigotry and ignorance?
