What am I missing? How can it cost $3 million to execute someone? ("Utah's NAACP leader says racist killer's execution too expensive," Tribune, Nov. 16)

How much for some rope? Electricity? Injection? Who gets the money? Who is worth that much to execute? How much would it cost to keep them in prison? Something is very wrong with this.
