We have just celebrated Veterans Day, recognizing those who fought for our freedom. They have made all of the other holidays possible. On July 4th we celebrated our independence.

On May 27, we celebrated Memorial Day. On this day we honored those who did not come home after the wars.

In the words of Harry Truman: "Our debt to the heroic men and valiant women in the service of our country can never be repaid. They have earned our undying gratitude. American will never forget their sacrifices."

We honor them by flying our flag at our homes. In my Cottonwood Heights neighborhood of 35 homes, I counted six flags.
