The Tribune editorial board is conspicuously quiet in its defense of the ACA now that beguiled Americans have learned we might not be able to keep our preferred health insurance in spite of the barrage of soothing presidential promises to the contrary.

One also has to consider what other surprises are lurking as U.S. health care continues its inexorably intended march toward a single-payer system.

We have beguiled ourselves.
