After reading Asael T. Sorensen's letter "Goblin toppler right," (Forum, Oct. 19), I was left to wonder, Hmmm ... maybe it wasn't such a good idea to crawl through that dirt tunnel in the first place.

And perhaps anybody stupid enough to climb onto a precariously perched goblin for a photo op gets what they deserve if it collapses. And instead of having the rangers topple any dangerous goblins, which would be most of them, the Scouts ought to confine their outings to the Bonneville Salt Flats.

But, most important, maybe it's time the Scouts create a merit badge for common sense. And the leaders would have to be the first to pass it.
