A physician who sits on the House Science Committee, Rep. Paul Broun of Georgia, a physician, insists the Earth is 9,000 years old; says "all that stuff I was taught about evolution, embryology, Big Bang theory ... is lies straight from the pit of hell." On the House floor, he referred to the Civil War as the "Great War of Yankee Aggression." He is seeking to join the Senate in 2014. Really?? Embryology??
An M.D. who disavows his training should be required to submit original research supporting his claims, be retrained or have his license revoked.
