Imagine Mitt Romney won the election. Having campaigned for a large tax cut, he’s able to get it through Congress. Democrats immediately revile it, renaming the law Romnopoly.
A handful of very liberal senators demand Romnopoly get rolled back, or they won’t pass a budget. Refusing to be blackmailed, President Romney stands his ground and doesn’t give in. Subsequently, the government shuts down.
