A definition of anarchy from Webster: "A state of lawlessness or political disorder due to the absence of governmental authority." Sound familiar?
The tea party faction of the Republican Party, about 5 percent of our 535 congressional representatives, advocates for drastically smaller government. Let the sequester occur? No problem; it reduced the size of government. Derail a federal budget? Why not? Government shutdown means fewer feds on the payroll. Oppose any effort to raise the U.S. debt ceiling? Bring it on! That will really make government (and the country) collapse. Next stop, anarchy, courtesy of this small group.
Is that what the rest of us want?
