Rep. Jack Draxler's (R-North Logan) proposed tax increase on beer presents the pinnacle of hypocrisy displayed by our esteemed lawmakers, but one should not have been too surprised.

They will not even utter a tax increase on gasoline to fulfill a real need for more highway and transit funding, or a tax increase on polluters to fund measures for better air quality, but a tax on beer fits well within their theocratic paradigm and is therefore not taboo.

Pure and simple hypocrisy.
