Share the burden

I have a suggestion for the City Council and mayor with regards to the recent passed property tax increase.

Each time you increase property taxes, your salary should decrease by the same percent as the increase in property taxes. Maybe this would make you ponder on the hardship that tax increases pose for homeowners in general.

After all, tax increases are a shared burden for the benefit of the city. You should share in the burden and learn to live within your means.
