There is no logic to how much money people make in America. People aren't rewarded for innovation; they're rewarded for power. Bill Gates hasn't come up with any innovations as of late yet he perpetually reaps the benefits for all of the innovations made by the employees of Microsoft because he is at the top.

Pay should be proportional to how hard people work. This can be interpreted in many ways, but it wouldn't allow for the janitor at McDonald's to make one 10th, one 100th, or one 1,000th of what the managers or CEO makes. It is not humanly possible to work 10 times, 100 times, or 1,000 times harder than a minimum-wage grunt. I'd like to see the CEO of McDonald's flip 1,000 times more burgers than full-time burger flippers, earning poverty for their efforts, to prove he's worth as much as he claims.
