Re "Fairly ticketed" (Forum, July 12), which equates the importance of cyclists following four-way stop protocol with that of automobile drivers.

The clear difference is that a failure to stop by the driver could result in serious damage to others, while the same carelessness by a bicycle rider is likely to endanger only him or herself.
