Sarah Collins' July 2 letter "Road hoggers" deserves a response. She cries about bicycles hogging the road while she drives around in her several-ton metal box on wheels. Cyclists are the road hogs? Really? Look in the mirror.

Collins writes that "[cyclists] cause drivers to dangerously swerve around them … ." Really? Cyclists make drivers unable to accept personal responsibility for their own actions?

If driving on a road with cyclists present is so irritating, then you should ride the bus. Cyclists have every right to the road that vehicles do, whether their drivers like it or not. It is the law. If you can't drive safely, stay home.

Collins' letter did do one good thing: It provided a timely reminder for cyclists that the roads are full of selfish, careless and distracted drivers. Thanks, Sarah!
