Texas two-step

The June 26 Tribune published, side-by-side, two incongruous stories out of Texas.

One concerned the efforts of the Texas Legislature to ban abortions after 20 weeks, which would "close most of the abortion clinics in the state" ("Abortion-bill filibuster broken," Tribune, June 27). The other article was "Texas prepares to execute 500th inmate" (Tribune, June 27).

Too bad there's not a committee for contradictory Christianity that would publicize these two stories.
