Over the past few weeks, I have traveled through Provo Canyon and noticed the shortage of water. Every lake and reservoir seems lower than this time last year. What does this mean for Utah's summer?

Last year was one of the worst fire years in Utah's history. Since there is a shortage of water, this year's fire season may be even worse. There may be more fire restrictions and precautions.

Hopefully, we will have a wetter season next year. In the meantime, to keep the number of fires down, everyone needs to pay close attention, take responsibility and be aware.
