Thank you for featuring Utah's Sisters of St. Benedict ("Utah will miss the nuns — and the nuns will miss Utah," Tribune, May 2).

While the exclusively male hierarchy of the Catholic Church continues to spend its time and money opposing birth control, abortion and same-sex marriage — and resists any argument against the absurd celibacy requirement in its priesthood — these strong, committed women have been the true Christians, living simply and communally, selflessly devoting their lives to educating, feeding, nurturing and being involved in their communities.

They contribute in every way they can to the world in which they live, and they expect nothing in return. What is more Christlike than that?
