With the extension of the TRAX Green Line from West Valley to the airport, I propose that the Utah Transportation Authority add a new line on existing tracks that runs from the airport station to the University Medical Center station.

This new line would connect Salt Lake City's east and west sides and ensure that trains come more frequently along the route, adding to the convenience of the TRAX system. (When the new Red Line opened, a Tribune editorial complained about that east-west severance.)

It's an idea worth looking at.
