In "Packer's 'tolerance'" (Forum, April 10), Aaron Davis concluded: "Damning committed love between adults of the same sex who are wired to love that way is not virtue. It is cruel."
Enough excuses. Gay sympathizers drag on and on in hoisting the worn-out argument that homosexuals are "wired that way." The primary reason to reject that argument is common sense.
Even if you pretend to take God out of the homosexual equation, simply considering the anatomy of the male and female bodies and the functions of their organs tells sensible people that such same-sex behavior is an aberration.
Mature adults who have grown up dealing with good and bad understand how acceptance of inherently bad things changes from being relatively obscure, to growing influence, to acceptance by society — a society that shows less and less sense these days.
It matters little that some sociologists or doctors adopt the same foolish thinking. Might does not make right.
If homosexuals were "wired that way," it would be because some mutation caused things to get cross-wired.
