Our donation request from the Utah Sheriffs Association arrived in the mail: Send $20 (individual) or $35 (family) to become an honorary member.
Honorary member of what? Of the organization that on Jan. 17 pledged to the death to defy federal gun laws they don’t like?

Sheriffs are supposed to stand for the law, but not this bunch. Who wants to be an honorary member of an outfit that has dishonored the office of sheriff in our state?
The lone sheriff who did not sign that dishonorable declaration — Salt Lake County Sheriff James Winder — remains the only Utah sheriff worthy of the uniform. Let the rest collect their silver from the National Rifle Association.
