Letter: NRA brainwashing

"The feds want your guns" has been a National Rifle Association mantra for many years. NRA CEO Wayne LaPiere recently repeated it in Utah ("Wayne LaPierre tells Utah feds want to seize guns," Tribune, Feb. 24).

So many Americans are brainwashed into believing it. Because of it, they have crowded gun stores and gun shows to stock up on heavy weapons.

This shows American intellect at its best? How incredibly sad!
