Letter: A bully’s pulpit

President Matthew DeVisser‘s political rant in a Sandy stake conference was neither Mormon nor Christian ("Mormon stake president gets political at church, laments election results," Tribune, Feb. 22).

Sadly, it does represent exactly what most Mormons believe, bereft as they are of any knowledge of their own Christian socialism of Mormonism’s first century or any evidence of any biblical understanding.

Church founder Joseph Smith said that "a man is saved no faster than he gets knowledge." President DeVisser, start reading. Two well-qualified men ran for the presidency, and the best man won.
