In "Interior pick has Utahns divided" (Tribune, Feb. 7), Rep. Rob Bishop commented on President Barack Obama's nomination of REI CEO Sally Jewell for Interior secretary, saying, "Her company has intimately supported several special-interest groups."

It should come as no surprise that Bishop is quick to recognize a supporter of special-interest groups. All he has to do is look in the mirror.

After all, he is the sponsor of a bill that would force the sale of public national forest land, owned by all of us, to a special interest — to a corporation to build the ill-conceived SkiLink, the proposed gondola that would connect Canyons and Solitude mountain resorts.
