I was amused by the article on the artist's boxing glove paint splatters at the annual fiesta of pseudo-elitists and wannabe-effete, otherwise known as the Sundance Film Festival ("Japanese artist Ushio Shinohara boxes his way to a knockout," Tribune, Jan. 22).

Contrary to the avowed promoters of art as anything, from the sophomoric to the sublime, it appeared more like anger management exercises for the artistically challenged.
