Unions are again being attacked and vilified by the usual suspects.
The elite in this country, like the billionaire Koch brothers, should take a look at their ridiculous compensation packages, and then tell me and other union members with a straight face that we are the problem.
In the 1970s, the CEO-to-worker compensation ratio was 30:1. Currently, it is well over 200:1, and rising.
Yes, labor in union strongholds should be more agile and flexible in contract negotiations or they will eventually wither away. However, the income gap is growing, and right-to-work legislation perpetuates the problem.
I hope for the day when middle-income Americans can once again afford to send their children to college, own two cars and 2.5 TVs.
