The difference between good and evil in current events of the day is easily discernible.

Executives of the bankrupt Hostess get $2 million worth of bonuses, while their former workers are attending job fairs — at Christmas time! ("Hostess seeks approval for executive bonuses," Tribune, Nov. 29).

A New York City police officer who doesn't make a lot of money buys boots and socks for a homeless man costing nearly $100 ("Picture of NYPD officer's kindness an online sensation," Tribune, Nov. 29). The shoe store manager pitches in and gives the officer a $25 discount.

Here we have a stark difference between what is moral and what is immoral.
