Tuesday's Tribune front page reported that "Obama has few fans in rural Utah" (Tribune, Nov. 27). No surprise there.

That rural Utah has benefited and gladly participated in President Barack Obama's stimulus program is no surprise either. That's to be expected in the dominant Republican state of Utah.

Utah Republicans are vocal in denouncing federal interference, but they are first in line to hold out their hands for federal money when there is a fire, a flood or any other disaster. Again, no surprise there.
