In "Informed kids" (Forum, Nov. 18), Sandra Sweetland praised the young, "bright, informed and dedicated" teen volunteers working to re-elect President Barack Obama. I am not sure that their motivation wasn't emotion, Pell education grants, free birth-control devises, abortion on demand paid by others and no thought of who pays for health care, education and other government gifts.

I also suspect their free time was subsidized by parents, that most never had to make a payroll, or dig deep to pay property taxes, or have a big chunk withheld from their paycheck.

All of their philosophies are admirable, but what is never discussed is who pays for all these wonderful services they receive.

If we keep robbing Peter to pay Paul, we soon make too many Pauls and not enough Peters.
