Why not ostrich plates?
This is an archived article that was published on sltrib.com in 2012, and information in the article may be outdated. It is provided only for personal research purposes and may not be reprinted.

In "Dino plates" (Forum, Nov. 17), James Mone proposed that Utah put dinosaurs on its license plates, similar to the "In God We Trust" plates being considered. I agree, but for different reasons.

Dino plates remind me of the old fossils in our Legislature who are not doing well in addressing modern issues. Some members are symbolic of the harmful elements around us that will contribute to our eventual demise.

Heck, we could also offer ostrich plates for those with their heads in the sand or other places where the sun doesn't shine.

Think of all the possibilities …
