Marching to GOP drum

The Nov. 5 front-page, banner headline "Utahns: Nation's going astray" was not the most important news of the day. I hope you didn't pay for that poll.

Duh! I, or anybody over 12 years old, could have told you that 70 percent-plus of Utahns believe "the state is marching toward a better future and the nation as a whole is stumbling in the wrong direction."

If a Republican had been president the past four years, having achieved the same (or lesser) record of leadership as President Barack Obama, I'll bet 70 percent of Utahns would have believed that the nation, like the state, also was marching toward a better future.
