I believe Gov. Gary Herbert has demonstrated the leadership qualities to deserve a full four-year term.

I appreciate his respect for local government. Utah is not a one-size-fits-all state. Draper has different needs than Tooele; Logan's priorities differ from St. George.

Herbert took this stance during firework season, and it worked. Cities and local governments were able to govern their cities instead of the state government imposing a blanket law. Not every decision has to be made in the governor's office.

The governor is a rational man. If there is a problem, he does not jump to conclusions or immediately fire someone. Instead, before making a decision, he follows the established process, listens to taxpayers and local government officials.

One Election Day, my vote will be for Herbert because he has a track record of leadership, respect and rationality.
