The Salt Lake Tribune's endorsement of President Barack Obama compelled me to respond ("Too Many Mitts: Obama has earned another term," Our View, Oct. 21). I found the message to be factual and enlightening, and I'm grateful that The Tribune would offer such a courageous, thoughtful and decisive opinion. As a member of a perceived minority in Utah — a non-Mormon woman — I have often found myself discouraged on the political front. It is nice to know that a minority view has a chance of being heard through such a courageous institution.

Thank you for giving me a voice through your clearly written and accurate accounting of the facts.
