I am so tired of the negative campaign ads by both sides of the Jim Matheson-Mia Love contest for Utah's new 4th Congressional District.

I cannot vote for Love because:

1. I don't really care whether she was "her family's ticket to America" or that she can't remember saying that to a reporter.

2. In her debate with Matheson, Love repeatedly failed to answer direct questions, skillfully returning to her talking points.

3. I went to Love's website to see what she favors. I found only generalities, no specific things she would like to accomplish. News reports say she favors big cuts to Medicare and Social Security rather than modest changes that would keep them solvent while not reducing benefits.

4. The things Love opposes really worry me: federal student loans, school lunches, expanded health care.

I am disappointed Matheson lowered himself to his opponent's nasty campaign tactics, but I will still vote for him.
