What's behind Brown?

In "Warren can end Indian question" (Opinion, Sept. 30), Don MacAngus suggested that a DNA test could prove whether Massachusetts Democratic Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren is of Native American descent, as she claimed.

It's fortunate for all of us that there is no DNA test that her opponent, Sen. Scott Brown, can produce that proves conclusively that he is not a horse's behind.

(These days, it's probably redundant to call any member of Congress a "horse's butt.")

From this situation, I opine two axioms:

1. You can't avoid vacuous campaign arguments.

2. If you want your genealogy done, run for public office.
