I don't understand how anyone can say that having Sen. Orrin Hatch as chairman of the Senate Finance Committee is a good thing for Utah or for the nation ("Hatch for Senate: Give Utah's lion one more term," Our View, Sept, 23).

As a member of the Senate Finance Committee for a number of years, Hatch has been right in the middle of the financial crisis and the budget deficit, and yet he has the audacity to blame it on President Barack Obama.

The saying, "If you don't like what you are getting, change what you are doing" is apropos here. For too many years, Hatch has been part of the problem, not part of the solution.
