Just like polyandry

I am confused why same-sex marriage is being proclaimed a civil right. I know, already you're thinking I am an ignorant, undemocratic redneck.

But say an ignoramus like myself began proclaiming that polyandry or polygamy were civil rights, too. If a woman or man came out of the womb with an intense desire for more than one spouse, and if all adult parties involved are in agreement, who are we to stop them?

Let me be clear: I am not supporting such a position. Yet, in all sincerity, I cannot see how it differs much from the same-sex marriage arrangement.
