Re "Lawyer presses West Valley City for Susan Powell police file" (Tribune, Aug. 22):
The police should not release the files on Susan Powell's death because, as the authorities said, it could jeopardize the investigation and what the police are trying to accomplish.
If the police had already closed the case, it would be right to release the files to the Cox family. But since it is an active and ongoing investigation on Susan Powell's death, releasing the documents could prevent the police from finding out more information.
