Up until now, Mitt Romney was a moderate businessman who argued that his experience in the private sector gave him insight into how to run the economy.
Romney argued that he wasn't a professional career politician and criticized President Barack Obama because he's "never spent a day in the private sector."
So Romney goes and picks as his vice presidential candidate Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis., who's worked in politics his entire life (as staff to members of Congress, then as a representative).
How can Romney now criticize Obama for being a politician (not that there's anything wrong with that) when he's willing to put Washington wonk Ryan a heartbeat away from the presidency?
