Many thanks to the Salt Lake City police officer who saved our day at the airport last Monday.
On my way home from dropping my wife at the airport, she called: She had forgotten her passport. I told her I could be back with it by 8:10 a.m. She had an 8:30 flight and the Delta gate attendant said the airplane door closes at 8:15.
I did not have enough time to park, so I stopped at the Delta curbside check-in to ask a skycap for help. It was packed.
Then I saw a police car. I told the officer the situation. He took the passport, told me to call my wife and have her meet him at the security checkpoint. He ran to the terminal, and I drove home.
My wife called. She made it! The 30-second act of kindness by this police officer saved our day.
Thanks to one of Salt Lake's finest.
