When I was in the Army, my captain had an engraved plaque over his desk that read: "A great plan is better than a good plan. A good plan is better than a bad plan. A bad plan is better than no plan. Do something, damn it!"

President Barack Obama's Affordable Care Act recently passed Supreme Court muster. The health care debate has been going on for years. Before Obama became president, everybody talked and talked about the problem.

The real problem was not the solution to the original problem of health care, but that nobody was doing anything. No plan. As our military has learned throughout the ages, inaction is suicide.

I've been a registered Republican for 32 years, and I'm not thrilled with some of the aspects of the ACA, but at least Obama did something. The Republicans had plenty of chances to solve the problem. Instead of complaining now, I wish they would shut up already.
