Sean Means demonstrated a total lack of sensibility in his review, "'Rock of Ages' serves up hits and misses" (Tribune, June 15). Means described the seduction scene between the rock star and the reporter as "safely PG-13."
Is this because the reporter still had on her bra and panties as the rock star sang into her rear instead of her ear? Perhaps Means thought it was "safe" because the strippers did not remove their black lingerie as they gyrated against their poles.
Tom Cruise gave a stellar performance as an aging, decaying rock star, and adorable Julianne Hough could probably make even the Holocaust look cute. But if you put rotten garbage in a fresh new bag, it will still stink. Likewise with this movie.
If this movie can be rated PG-13, the ratings system is useless.
