I have been a Tribune subscriber since 1974. If The Salt Lake Tribune wonders why its readers keep leaving and its circulation keeps falling, someone there needs to stand back and look at the newspaper it has decided to become.
In one of the most politically conservative states in this nation, The Tribune has decided to espouse the liberal cause. The editorial page, the Pat Bagley cartoons and the general staff-written copy are taking this newspaper to a destiny of oblivion.
During the '70s and '80s, the same thing was happening to radio stations in America. With the success of several conservative talk show hosts, the radio stations in this country were saved.
The Tribune staff is among the best and the brightest. Why have you chosen to travel in your present direction in a state where the conservative view is the one most valued and appreciated?
