Unlike Jerry Crouch's experience with the Driver License Division at the Fairpark office, I just had a wonderful experience ("Papers, please," Forum, June 22).

I made an appointment online and was in the building less than 15 minutes on a very busy day. All of the employees were friendly and competent.

The difference could be that I actually read the succinct and detailed document that was provided as part of the renewal process and brought the exact documents requested. When dealing with government entities, precisely following instructions leads to more pleasant experiences.

Following instructions is something a lot of people resist and then want to complain about the results.
