Roundabouts are great, if they are used correctly. They could replace many four-way-stop intersections.
Cities erecting roundabouts cannot expect drivers to automatically know how to use them, especially when and how to signal and how to enter.
Entering a roundabout can be a life-and-death situation. I have nearly run into a car because they have stopped in the roundabout to let someone enter.
When Australia (where I am from) started building roundabouts, the Department of Infrastructure and Transport launched an education campaign of brochures that came with your car registration and media ads. Something really needs to be done here and soon!
